Endodontic procedures, also known as root canals, can be used to save a patient’s natural tooth via the removal of irreversibly infected nerve tissue from the inside of the tooth. Patients typically need a root canal when there is inflammation or infection in the roots of a tooth. Signs you may need a root canal include severe toothache or sensitivity, tooth discoloration, gum swelling, and persistent pimple on the gums.
During root canal treatment, you will be completely numb and should not feel any pain. We will carefully remove the pulp or nerve inside the tooth, clean, disinfect and shape the root canals. Finally we will place a filling to seal the space. This would allow you to save the tooth rather than having to pull it out!
